Terms of Use

Effective 4 September 2026

These terms form a binding agreement. If you are a consumer, mandatory Swedish and EU consumer law applies in full and nothing here reduces it. Clauses marked business only do not apply to you.

1. Who you are contracting with

Dubedo is operated by Magiska AB, company registration number 559443-8797, VAT number SE559443879701, Kamgatan 9 E, 415 73 Göteborg, Sweden. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that company and “you” means the person or organisation holding the account.

Reach us at hello@dubedo.com. You accept these terms when you create an account. Our privacy policy forms part of this agreement.

2. What Dubedo does

Dubedo transcribes video and audio, translates it, and generates dubbed speech in another language, using artificial intelligence at each step. You can edit the transcript and the translation, assign or clone voices, adjust timing, and export the result as video, audio or subtitles.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16 to hold an account and at least 18 to buy a paid plan. One account is for one person or one organisation. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep every right you already have in the files you upload. Uploading grants us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, transmit and modify that content only to run the service for you, including sending it to the processing providers listed in our sub-processor list. The licence lasts as long as you keep the content on the service and ends when you delete it.

We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models, and our agreements with our AI providers prohibit them from doing so.

5. What you get out

As between you and us, you own the transcripts, translations and generated audio that Dubedo produces from your content, and you may use them commercially. We claim no rights in your output.

Two honest limits on that:

  • Machine-generated output cannot always be protected by copyright, and how much protection it attracts differs by country. We make no promise about it.
  • Owning the output does not give you rights you did not have in the input. If you did not have the right to dub the source material, dubbing it does not create one.

6. Output is machine-generated

Transcription, translation and speech generation are automated and imperfect. Output may contain mistakes in wording, meaning, names, numbers, timing or pronunciation, and a synthetic voice may not match the original speaker's delivery. Review the output before you publish or rely on it. Do not use Dubedo unreviewed where a mistake could cause harm, including medical, legal, financial and safety-critical material.

7. Voices, consent and impersonation

Permission. Only clone or synthesise a voice when it is your own, or when you have the speaker's clear and informed permission for this use. That includes voices extracted from a video you uploaded. If you are asked, you must be able to show that permission.

No impersonation. Even with permission, you must not use Dubedo to make anyone appear to say something they did not say, in a way intended or likely to deceive. That includes fabricated statements attributed to real people, synthetic audio presented as a genuine recording, and any use designed to mislead about who is speaking.

Tell people it is synthetic. Where you publish dubbed material that reproduces a real person's voice, disclose that the audio is artificially generated wherever a listener would otherwise be misled. Laws in several markets, including the European Union, require this in a growing set of cases, and meeting them is your responsibility as the publisher.

Withdrawn permission. If a speaker withdraws permission, delete the voice and any material generated from it. Tell us at hello@dubedo.com if you need help.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • upload content you have no right to use, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy or personality rights;
  • upload or generate illegal material, or material that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexual content involving minors;
  • use the service to deceive, defraud or impersonate, as section 7 sets out;
  • attempt to circumvent credit charges, plan limits or daily ceilings, or repeatedly claim the free trial through additional accounts or address variations;
  • probe, scrape, overload or reverse engineer the service, or access another account's data; or
  • resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.

9. Plans, credits and payment

Credits. Credits are the unit of use. Ten credits equal one second of source duration. New accounts receive a one-time trial grant of free credits, once per mailbox.

What costs credits. Generating a dubbed track and cloning or generating a voice consume credits. Transcription, translation and voice previews do not, though they carry the fair-use limits in section 10. Each generated clip includes three free identical re-generations before further attempts cost credits. Current prices are on our pricing page.

Subscriptions. Paid plans renew automatically each month until cancelled, and the card on file is charged on each renewal date. Each renewal adds that plan's monthly credits. Unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly allowance, and anything above the cap is lost at renewal.

Cancelling. Cancel any time from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and you keep access and your credits until then.

Failed payments. We may retry and may suspend generation until payment succeeds. We do not delete your data for non-payment without the notice in section 12.

Price changes. We may change prices. For an existing subscription we give at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies, and you may cancel before it takes effect without penalty.

Tax. Prices shown to consumers include VAT. Prices shown to business customers exclude VAT, which is added at checkout according to your location and VAT status.

Top-ups are one-off purchases of credits. They do not expire while your account is open and are not subject to the rollover cap.

10. Fair use of the free operations

Transcription, translation and voice previews cost you nothing but consume real processing capacity, so they carry daily limits, which are larger on paid plans. If you reach one it resets the following day. We may adjust the limits with notice, and may contact you before restricting an account that consistently sits at the ceiling.

11. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

You have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of a subscription or a credit top-up, counted from the day the contract was concluded, without giving a reason.

Starting immediately. Because the service is delivered digitally and straight away, we ask you at checkout to confirm that you want us to start immediately and that you understand the withdrawal right ends once we have fully performed. We record that confirmation.

What you get back. If you withdraw within the 14 days we refund the purchase in full, less a proportionate amount for the credits you have already spent, calculated at the price you paid. If you have spent no credits you receive a full refund.

To withdraw, write to hello@dubedo.com before the period ends. You may use the Swedish Consumer Agency's standard withdrawal form but you do not have to. We refund within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method.

12. Suspension and closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully, or that puts the service or other customers at risk. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to put it right.

You may close your account at any time from your profile. Closing it permanently deletes your projects, files and voices, and forfeits any remaining credits. The free trial cannot be claimed again by the same email address.

If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription period.

13. Availability

We aim to keep Dubedo available but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Processing runs on GPU capacity that scales down when idle, so the first request after a quiet period may take up to a minute. We may change or discontinue features, and if we discontinue something you rely on we will give reasonable notice. We do not offer a service level agreement on standard plans.

14. Warranties

Beyond what this agreement says and what mandatory law provides, the service is supplied as it is and as available. Business only: we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and any warranty about the accuracy of AI output. Consumer rights under Swedish law are unaffected.

15. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Business only: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, and our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 1,000 SEK.

For consumers, our liability follows Swedish law and is not capped by this section.

16. Your responsibility (business only)

If you are a business customer, you will cover our reasonable losses arising from your breach of sections 7 or 8, or from a third-party claim that your content or your use of the output infringed their rights.

17. Data protection

Our privacy policy explains what we do with personal data. Where you upload recordings of other people, you are the controller and we are your processor, and our data processing agreement applies and forms part of this agreement.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app. If you do not accept a change you may close your account before it takes effect and we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period. Continuing to use the service after the notice period means you accept the change.

19. Law and disputes

Swedish law governs this agreement. If you are a consumer you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.

Consumers, before going to court: you can refer a dispute free of charge to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se. We follow their recommendations. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Business only: Göteborgs tingsrätt has exclusive jurisdiction.

20. General

If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a right immediately does not waive it. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, on notice, and you may close your account if you object. These terms and the documents they reference are the whole agreement between us.
